"...promotion of excellence in transplant clinical nursing through the provision of educational and professional growth opportunities, interdisciplinary networking, collaborative activities, and transplant nursing research."

The Transplant Nursing Excellence Award is offered yearly and presented at the Transplant Nursing Symposium, held from 28-30 June 2018 at the HIlton Rosemont Chicago O'Hare in the Chicago, IL, USA area.

2018 Transplant Nurses Day Essay Contest

All nominations must be received by Wednesday, 28 February 2018.

In April 2006, the International Transplant Nurses Society (ITNS) created Transplant Nurses Day to raise awareness of the unique contributions transplant nurses make in the lives of the people with whom they work, especially their patients. The celebration takes place the third Wednesday in April, this year 18 April 2018, and recognizes the skill and commitment of transplant nurses around the world.

As appreciation of this important day grows, ITNS is committed to creating more opportunities for nurses to celebrate their contributions. The Transplant Nurses Day Essay Contest allows patients to nominate an ITNS transplant nurse who has made a difference in their lives. The winning essay will be featured in a future issue of the ITNS Insider. In addition, the nurse will receive a recognition award, a letter sent to his or her supervisor, and acknowledgement on the ITNS website and in an ITNS E-Updates membership e-mail.

For eligibility and more information, please view the official entry form. All entries must be submitted to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by Tuesday, 28 February 2017.
