Staff Nurse SIG

This ITNS Staff Nurse SIG includes transplant nurses from transplant centers all over the world interested in communicating with one another in order to improve care provided to organ transplant recipients, donors, and their families. Communication within this group is primarily through email.

Mission Statement:
The staff nurses will improve the quality of care for all solid organ transplant recipients, donors and their families through collaboration, partnership, and the sharing of best nursing practice with an emphasis on evidenced based research.

Short Term Goal:
For the members of the SIG to establish a process in which individuals interested in transplant nursing can interact with one another and dedicate their combined efforts in order to focus on the development of comprehensive and quality care for solid organ transplant patients and
their families.

Long Term Goals:
For the members of the SIG to become the core of an international group of nurses who will promote and pursue excellence in education and clinical practice with the aim of ensuring that practice guidelines in the field of transplant nursing adhere to the principles of evidenced-based health care.

For the members of the SIG to develop plans for patient care that reflect best practice and focus on quality patient outcomes.
