Call for Nominations for 2010-2011 ITNS Board of Directors
Calling all ITNS members!!! Do you know a current ITNS member who is an outstanding leader, enthusiastic, able to think outside the box, a real team player with new exciting ideas, and committed to improving the practice of transplant nursing? Do you fit this picture? Consider running for the ITNS Board of Directors. You will find being on the ITNS BOD one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of your career.
Open Board Positions
The five board positions that will be elected by the membership at large for 2010 are:
President Elect -- A three year commitment, prior experience on the ITNS board is required.
Secretary/Web Site Director -- A two year commitment; no prior board experience is required. Records and distributes minutes of all meetings to the Board of Directors, maintains records for the organization. Oversee the maintenance/updating of the ITNS Web site.
Newsletter Director -- A two year commitment; no prior board experience is required, promotes ITNS as a professional nursing organization through the submission and dissemination of transplant education and ITNS activities in a regularly published newsletter.
Education Director -- A two year commitment; no prior board experience is required, Masters Degree in Nursing or higher required.
International Director -- A two year commitment, no prior board experience is required. Any active ITNS member in good standing who resides outside of the USA is eligible to run. One of the international directors must reside outside of North America. The international director promotes and protects the international position of the organization by increasing the international membership, as well as educational offerings on an international level.

The candidate criteria are based on the current role descriptions in the complete ITNS by-laws (PDF). Please take the time to review the job descriptions and acquaint yourself with each position. Nomination Form
You may nominate yourself or an ITNS colleague, with their permission, by completing the Nomination Form (PDF) and return to the ITNS office by fax or mail. The nominee will receive a confirmation email of receipt within three business days. If verification is not received within that time frame, please contact the Executive Office at 412-343-4867. Nomination deadline is March 22, 2010
Nomination Process
The ballots for the 2010 election will be compiled by the nominations committee and reviewed by the BOD per the bylaw guidelines. If you have any questions pertaining to the nomination process, please contact Chris Shay-Downer, President Elect at shayc@ccf.org.
Notification of Results
The ITNS election will be conducted electronically. In April 2010, all ITNS members in good standing will receive an email containing specific voting instructions, candidate information, and ballot. It is very important the ITNS Executive Office has your correct email address. If your email address has changed or if you would like to confirm your current email address, please email the ITNS Executive office at itns_admin@msn.com or call 412-343-4867.
