 VISION FOR TRANSPLANT NURSING

Vision for Transplant Nursing:  Transplant Nursing is a specialized field and should be celebrated for leading the way on many initiatives that have impact on other patient populations.  Relationships built between patient and nurse lend itself to be a rewarding field of nursing.  Transplant Nursing is the glue that holds patients and doctors together and more importantly patients to the organs they receive.

 VISION FOR ITNS

I envision ITNS as the support system for all nurses caring for transplant patients that may need guidance in providing care, support in obtaining certification and mentoring in sharing best practices among centers.  ITNS should function as that collaborative network for nurses throughout the world to learn from each other and their patients.

 ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN PROFESSIONAL POSITIONS & LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

Accomplishments in Professional Positions:    Progressively changed throughout the advancements in organ transplantation.  Had the privilege of working with some of the pioneers in the transplantation world.  Moved from a staff nurse to a Unit Director where I was able to raise the level of patient satisfaction and staff satisfaction, maintained a turnover rate under 8% for 10 years, moved into the Senior Director position and guided the service line through UNOS and CMS surveys, instrumental in developing a business plan for a collaboration between CHP and another facility, President of local chapter of ITNS, Board member on the local OPO center, Top points for HAP donate life Challenge.

Accomplishments in Leadership Positions
Oversee multiple service lines and have developed    strategic plans for each subdivision,  able to meet goals of each division,  Advisor to the Quality and Safety Council, Magnet advisor to the Education and Professional Development Council, Administrative Chair for Professional Practice Council, Presented at ITNS international conferences, Spoke at Donate life activities.
